Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi continued his brilliant goalscoring form against his favorite opponent in the French Ligue 1, Monaco on Wednesday night.
The 23-year-old got on the scoresheet as Lorient and Monaco played out a 2-2 draw at the Stade Yves Allainmat – Le Moustoir.
Moffi thought he had won the three points for Lorient when he finished off a counter attack to make it 2-1, but Monaco snatched a draw right at the death thanks to a goal from Wissam Ben Yedder in added time.
The Nigeria international has netted five goals in five appearances against Monaco, more than against any other side in the French topflight.
In Moffi’s first game against Monaco in January 2021, he found the net in a 5-2 loss, and then bagged a brace the following month, before scoring the winner in a home game against them last season.
The former K.V. Kortrijk marksman has been firing on all cylinders for club and country since the end of last season, with his strike last night taking his tally to fourteen goals combined for Lorient and the Super Eagles.
After 18 games in the division, Lorient are sixth in the standings with 32 points accumulated.
