The national anthem is a rallying point for Nigerians, but nothing is as outstanding as a 12-year-old saxophonist masterfully playing her instrument while delivering a rendition of the national anthem at the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally in Lagos on February 22, 2023.

In the presence of President Muhammadu Buhari, Ore-ofe Sax closed the Presidential Campaign rally of the All Progressive Congress (APC) on February 22, 2023.
Ore-ofe ‘Sax’ Balogun, who has been playing the saxophone since she was five, decided to learn the instrument while watching her dad, Bishop Balogun Sax, play Sax. Her dad, a music instructor, taught her how to play the instrument.
Her mother, Deborah Balogun, said in an interview that she had shown interest in learning the musical instrument since she was four. As early as age seven, she had her first performance that led her to the point of mastery in less than five years.
While performing on big stages like comedy concerts and multiple gospel concerts, for years, Ore-ofe Sax has been making a name for herself as one of the youngest live performers in Nigeria.
This is not the first time the saxophonists would be playing with political leaders in attendance. In December 2021, at the Omituntun Mega Praise, which had Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde in attendance, Ore-ofe also performed.
She has won multiple awards in her short time as a saxophonist, including the 2022 Blingz Event Award. In 2021, she held her own concert, ‘An Evening With Ore-Ofe Sax’, where she performed and had her first fan meet and greet.
“I want her to be a role model to her pairs and the upcoming generation,” Deborah Balogun told Ilaji Hotel & Sports Resort in 2020. Two years down the line, she is towing that part.
